Soft Hands - Blackjack Basic Strategy
Soft hands are much safer to use and there is a lot more room for error. Normally, a soft hand will have an ace and it will be impossible to go bust on a single hit and draw. It's much like having a second chance if you end up with what would normally be a stiff hand in the hard hand category. Then the ace that counts as 11 points would then count as 1 point.
There are a few strategies involved with playing soft hands. Click on the links in the navigation above view all of the correct basic strategy moves for soft hands as well as the other blackjack hands.
The general strategy here is to stand on all hands that are higher than 18 and always hit on any soft hand that is 17 points or less. View the links above to explore the reasons behind each strategy and what to do depending on what the dealer card is.
